Welcome to Crossroads Children's Ministry!

Who it's for: Every child is welcome. We have dedicated children's programming for ages 2 and up, and little ones under 2 can join our nursery at East Falls. Cherry Hill has a nursing area for parents with infants.
When we meet: Crossroads meets during Sunday Services at both campuses: East Falls at 11:30 AM and Cherry Hill at 4:00 PM. After a time of praise, the presider dismisses the children to our program.

About our Fellowship

Why Crossroads?

At Crossroads, we understand that children are constantly at pivotal moments in their lives, navigating important decisions and directions. Our aim is to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can personally encounter the Gospel of Jesus Christ, building a strong foundation of faith that will grow with them into adulthood. We are committed to partnering with parents in the Christian upbringing of their children, reinforcing Gospel truths at church in a way that complements how they are lived out at home. Safety and spiritual growth are our top priorities as we work together to foster their walk with Christ.

Prioritizing Safety

We understand the profound responsibility God has entrusted to us in caring for the safety and well-being of the children in our ministry. Every Crossroads environment is overseen by a dedicated team of trained volunteers who have gone through a comprehensive onboarding process. This includes submitting an application, participating in an in-person interview, undergoing a background check, and completing thorough training on our policies as well as an accredited sexual abuse awareness training.

To ensure a secure space, all Crossroads areas are closely monitored, with access restricted to parents and approved volunteers only.

Our Teachers

Meet our Team

Our team of teachers and assistants are not only active members of Metro Church, but they have also been thoroughly screened and trained to ensure the highest level of care for your children. Each team member shares a deep love for children and a passion for teaching, and many of them also serve as professional educators throughout the city. Their training and dedication help create a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for every child in our care.

FAQs

Questions You Might Have

: Our Crossroads Children's Fellowship program is provided in both sites at East Falls (11:30 AM) and Cherry Hill (4:00 PM). After a time of praise, the presider will dismiss the children to our program.
: We currently take children ages 2 and up. For children under the age of 2 we have a nursery in our East Falls location and a nursing area in the back of the sanctuary in our Cherry Hill site.
: Regardless of what service you attend, your child will be cared after by trained volunteers that have also gone through state mandated background checks and have obtained clearances to work with children. These measures ensure that we can provide your children with great care in a safe environment.
: East Falls, 11:30 AM
In our East Falls location, you will be greeted by a Crossroads volunteer before you head to the sanctuary to join the service. If it is your first time, we ask that you provide us with your child’s name, age and your phone number to reach you in case of an emergency (please make sure your phones are on vibrate during service!). You will be given a printed label for you and your child. Please keep your label so you can smoothly pick up your child later. If you plan to continue sending your child, we would love for you to fill out an intake form so we can get to know you and your child better.
After service, please make your way back to the Crossroads check-in area. Our program concludes at 12:20pm, and a volunteer will be there to check out your child. If you do not have your barcode sticker (or QR code pass via mobile), you will be asked to show identification in order to pick your child up.
Cherry Hill, 4:00 PM
In our Cherry Hill location, you will be greeted by a Crossroads volunteer in the foyer area before you head into the worship hall. If it is your first time, we ask that you provide us with your child’s name, age and your phone number to reach you in case of an emergency (please make sure your phones are on vibrate during service!). You will be given a printed label for you and your child. Please keep your label so you can smoothly pick up your child later. If you plan to continue sending your child, we would love for you to fill out an intake form so we can get to know you and your child better.
After service, please return to the Crossroads check-in area. Our program concludes at 5:20pm, and a volunteer will be there to check out your child. If you do not have your barcode sticker (or QR code pass via mobile), you will be asked to show identification in order to pick your child up.
: Your child will take part in an age-appropriate, liturgically sound worship. They will go through elements of praise, confession, and a Gospel lesson. They will also engage in activities that reinforce the lesson which will also include scripture memory. When possible, snack will also be provided. Although we are peanut-free, please inform us if your child has any allergies.
: Yes! We understand that church is only one hour in a week for a child's gospel education and that is not enough. Each week your child will come home with two sheets. One is our News-Bulletin that will have our elements of worship (think of a bulletin you get during service). On it, there is a “Weekly Family Review Plan” that gives suggestions on how you can reinforce the lessons at home. The other is a lesson specific sheet that will have response questions (for our older children) or lesson highlights so you can review along with your child). There is also this resource page that has a curated Spotify playlist (for those long car rides) and other helpful book recommendations!
