Community groups provide an opportunity to experience and foster a Gospel community where practical demonstrations of love, generosity, service, accountability, and healthy dialogue are embraced in the context of everyday life. Answers to Common Questions

: The purpose of Christian ”small groups“ can vary drastically from church to church. Here at Metro, the purpose of our community groups is to care for one another and be renewed by the gospel together. Our hope is that meaningful and lasting friendships would organically develop in the context of these groups, providing opportunities to ”walk“ with others through the peaks and valleys of life as we seek to grow in the Gospel together.
: A typical meeting will start off with attendees sharing a meal (or snacks) together, providing an opportunity to meet and connect with others in the group. Afterwards, there is generally some type of content (i.e. book, video, sermon study, etc.) that the group reviews and discusses together. Finally, groups usually close for the night after a brief time of praying together.
: Group meetings typically last between 2 to 2.5 hours on average.
: Absolutely not! Though some people might be ”further along“ in their respective spiritual journeys than others, our groups are designed to be a place where anyone (including friends, family, coworkers, or acquaintances of group members) who desires to learn more about Jesus Christ and the good news of his Gospel can do so in a warm, safe, and caring environment.
: The only thing you need to bring when visiting a group for the first time is yourself! The group leader will offer any additional instructions or details as needed prior to your visit.
: We recommend that you consider a group closest to where you live or work. College groups are for undergraduate students, so if that is not you, pick a neighborhood group instead. Each of our groups have its own unique dynamic, so feel free to check out multiple groups as you consider which one might be the best “fit” for you.
